Choir I

Learn how to recognize pitch and sing together as a group.  Students will learn music through fun age appropriate songs, rhythm, percussion instruments, physical movement, action and simple rounds.  Learn familiar and new songs themed for the younger student.

Choir II

Choir II builds on the experience learned in Choir I.  Learn basic voice technique, chorale technique, warm-ups, complex rounds and the basics of understanding melody and harmony.  Learn the different parts of a choir and the orchestra to support a solid understanding of music.  Learn different genres of music and correlating songs.

Choir III

ntermediate chorale and vocal technique for choir.  Individual voice coaching.  Learn and sing songs in harmony.  Learn how to solo or duet.  Exposure to reading sheet music.  Understanding key and time signatures, advanced rhythm, intervals and scales.  Enhance singing projection, enunciation and vocalization.  Learn complex pieces of music from styles such as classical, musical theater, American roots of gospel, jazz, blues and rock.

Choir- Performance

Acceptance into this class is by evaluation and acceptance by the director.  Sometimes called Show Choir, this group focuses on combining strong vocals with movement or dance that compliments the message of the musical number.  Successful students will learn stronger vocals, facial expression, projection, endurance and the ability to move or dance at the same time.  As a performance based group, the students will learn musical theater numbers, POP music mash-ups and original supporting choreography.
